Problem:
All sides of the convex pentagon ABCDE are of equal length, and β A=β B= 90β. What is the degree measure of β E ?
Answer Choices:
A. 90
B. 108
C. 120
D. 144
E. 150
Solution:
Because AB=BC=EA and β A=β B=90β, quadrilateral ABCE is a square, so β AEC=90β.
Also CD=DE=EC, so β³CDE is equilateral and β CED=60β. Therefore
β E=β AEC+β CED=90β+60β=150ββ.
